Outcome
Alien Hand Syndrome has many different outcomes for different people who are diagnosed. People who have Alien Hand Syndrome after a stroke or any brain illness have a high likelihood for recovery after some time. However, recovery is less successful for people who have neurodegenerative diseases. Many people with this syndrome decide to attend physical and occupational therapies. A selective number of individuals will try to control their alien hand by holding it between their legs or they decide to sit on it. Others hold an object in the "alien" hand to prevent it from getting out of their control, or they give verbal commands to stop the actions. Overall, there is no cure for alien hand syndrome, but in order to better manage the syndrome it is recommended to check in regularly with your doctor if you experience any symptoms related to Alien Hand Syndrome. A proper diagnosis has a possibility in helping you to reduce any unease you may be experiencing. Your symptoms and an appropriate treatment plan will be dealt with by your doctor.
